Team News
Well done to the Ladies Scratch Team who beat Wetherby 5-2 at Hornsea on 20th April.
Hornsea was represented at the Brough Ladies Pro Am on the 27th April. Myself Chris Gregory and Jo Roach accompanied by Stretton took on the Brough course, and whilst we could not muster those few more elusive points needed to give us a place on the leaderboard, we came in around middle of the field. Stretton on the other hand played very well and came in with a 69 in joint 6th place. A very enjoyable day and our compliments to Brough Green staff who must have worked pretty hard to get the course in such good condition in poor weather.
Can’t wait for summer golf to start!!!

Sadly today April 17th saw the first cancellation of our Tuesday Competition. Bitterly cold wind and driving rain does not encourage even the hardiest of us, and and whilst a few optimistic ladies turned up, the decision not to play was made.
The Ladies B Team played their first match against Springhead at Hornsea and secured a 4-3 win. Good start to the season.
Here are the results from our previous Tuesday and Saturday medals.

This week, on the 2nd April, we held our annual Bridge Drive. This was hosted by the Ladies Committee who provided afternoon tea for 60 players. A wonderful home baked cake stall quickly sold out and the generous raffle table resulted in a large number of tickets being sold. The sum of £411.90 was raised for my charity YORKSHIRE CANCER RESEARCH.
Our Ladies Competition Day on Tuesday 3rd April saw 38 ladies competing in the LADY CAPTAINS CHARITY VASE. We considered ourselves very lucky to avoid the worst of the changing weather conditions.
1st Jan Elder 80 Hcp 12
2nd Lyndis Johns Hcp 11.

Well done to all those ladies. I shall be hosting the Hornsea Bridge Drive on Monday April 2nd. The event starts at 1.00 pm with refreshments served at half time. There will be a generous raffle table and a chance to buy from our wonderful cake stall. There is still a table available, so if you would like to join us, please contact me (01262 468227).
All proceeds will go to my designated charity YORKSHIRE CANCER RESEARCH.
I am looking forward to the day and to welcoming not only Hornsea members but visitors from other clubs in our region.
