Gents Open Am Am - Wednesday 7th July Results

Our annual Gents Open was held on Wednesday 7^th July. This event was well supported once again this year. We did unfortunately loose a few teams closer to the day due to Covid isolation but with 32 teams playing it was still a great event.

We had been closely following the weather forecast on various apps all week and as usual the forecasters got it completely wrong and many of the players suffered from the heavy showers. It was however a warm day and the later groups had the benefit of drier conditions.

Scoring was varied with some good and some not so good with the score of 88 proving to be the best of the day. Accepting the cards later in the day and chatting with the players, all who played had enjoyed the course thoroughly and our thanks once again go to our greens team for presenting and maintaining the course so well. A few comments on the rough will be passed on, however as with most clubs we are experiencing rapid growth due to the weather conditions.

Congratulations to one of the Hillsborough teams for winning the event; P Dooley, A Whiteley, P McAnearney and P Taylor. We had 6 prizes awarded, all winners have been put into credit in the Hornsea Professional Shop. If you are wanting products posting please let me know and we can arrange this. As well as the products in store you can also check out the foremostgolf.com website and if you wish us to order anything just let me know.

We would like to thank our starters today; Sue Howell, Jan Elder and Tom Elder. Many thanks for volunteering once again, it is always greatly appreciated. Thanks also to the catering staff for providing food and drink throughout the day.

We are taking bookings now for next year’s event, Wednesday 6^th July, please book either online or give me a ring and we will organise a time for you.

Once again thank you to all the players that attended this and many other events at Hornsea your support is always greatly appreciated, and we hope that you all enjoyed your visit.
